Hmmm...........hmmm..........(me thinking)..........hmmm.............(still thinking)............hmm............got it (I think)!
Here is my plan
1) I will write about Jordan's birthday here-today.
2) I will write about Lights of Love" on my private blog.
(click here to go right to it-but you do need to be invited, so let me know if you need an invite)
3) I will do my grateful for post tomorrow or Monday.
Sounds like I have a plan (well, for the time being)!
Yesterday, my husband turned 32. I know, old, right? Just kidding. I always try to do something fun/special/exciting for him. We've gone to Denver, Midway, movies, nice resturants, etc. in the past, so to think of something new was hard. It was also hard because there has been a lot (and I mean A LOT) of personal stuff going on in my life so I honestly didn't have the time/energy/will power that I've had in the past to plan something. And normally we both have the day off somehow, so we get the whole day to do stuff. That was not the case yesterday. He had to work for the first time EVER!
So, the day started off just like any other. He got up, got ready for work, left for work. I got up, got the kids ready for school, got me ready, saw Trae off, and took Elie to school. It turns out that he was able to meet for lunch, so I drove down to the mall by his work. We saw his BFF (well, one of them), and then headed to Cheesecake Factory for lunch. His BFF (well, one of them) decided to join us too. It made for a great lunch. I got to see him, got my avocado eggrolls, got a piece of Red Velvet Cheesecake (which I have yet to taste), and got to do a little bit of shopping.
I grabbed a few small 'filler' gifts (something that would make him blush) to give him at dinner and headed home. Once home, I had 45 minutes to get Trae ready for football, Elie ready for dance, deliever them to their destinations, and make sure grandpa knew where and when to pick them up. Just as I was storming out the door, I noticed the toilet hadn't been flushed (something that happens quite frequently around here-I'll blame the kids) so I flushed it. BIG mistake! It was clogged and overflowed EVERYWHERE. I had to leave to get Trae to football in time, so I was not a happy camper doing my taxi duties knowing that I had that to come home too. Oh well, what do you do?
I delivered the kids, cleaned up the toilet mess, and grabbed my husband to drag him to dinner. I arranged all of it-which surprised him abit-so he had no idea where we were going. I decided on Tepanyaki. I also decided to invite his friends. He was very surprised on both. We had a great time with some of his closest friends at a very fun and entertaining resturant. I couldn't have asked for a better night.
We said good night to our friends and headed off to my parents house to pick up the kiddos. When we got there (shortly after 9 pm), Traeden was passed out on the couch and Elie was hiding from us. I had his birthday cake and he had a couple of presents left from my family and the kids. So we celebrated even more (Trae was still conked out on the couch).
After that, we went home, put the kids to bed, watched a little bit of TV (and there was a little bit of whip cream involved), and feel asleep in each others arms. All in all I think it was one perfect day. I couldn't have asked for it to go any better (I guess I could have done without the toilet problem though)!
