Things that Make Me Smile!

As I've lived my normal, boring, everyday life over the last couple weeks, I've really taken note on things around me-especially things that make me smile.

Life can so mundane.  At least for me it can.  I get into the same routines: chores, cleaning (yes I do this once in awhile), carpool, sports, dance, work, etc. that I feel like certain things just pass me by.

Here are just a couple of things that I've noticed lately that make me smile and happy:

Crocheting-this dress is for a friend's new baby.  I realized when it was finished that I LOVE to crochet and I LOVE even more the finished products...like this.

Baseball-sounds weird coming from my basketball favoring mouth, but I had so much fun last year watching Traeden get into it and the new season is about to start again...and I can't wait.

Costumes-I bought this dress for Elie in Spain.  When I gave it to her she cried.  She wanted a soccer jersey like Traeden got.  Well, yesterday she wanted to wear this to play in and all the kids wanted it.  Now I can't get her to take it off!

Guacamole-bad picture, I know, but I've never been able to achieve prefection when it comes to this dip.  And I think that I just did thanks to one of the other basketball dads.

(can you guess which one is Traeden's?)

that's right

this one!

Pinewood Derby-OK...this one really doesn't make me happy.  In fact, it's caused a lot of friction around our house.  But Last night, at the derby, nothing could make me smile prouder then a boy scout posing with his dad and his car.

Just writing about all this stuff brings a Big Ol' Smile to my Face!

What a cute post! It really is the simple things in life that bring us the greatest joy. Not the fancy houses, cars, toys, etc. (although those things sure are fun!) Thanks for sharing, that was fun to read! I think I might need to learn how to crochet.. that dress is adorable!
